Featured on the Front Page of The Crimson last week, was the new major partnership between HUTV and the UC. Legislation was passed across 3 separate committees (Student Relations Committee, Finance Committee, and Student Initiatives Committee), and resulted in the “UC-HUTV Partnership Act”. Thanks to Tiffany Fereydouni, HUTV’s VP of Business & Finance, and to Derek Flanzraich, President of HUTV, who wrote and presented an unprecedented 50-page budget proposal to the UC, HUTV received nearly $12,000 to support its 12 shows. $9,000 will be used for the purchase of new video equipment, which will be pooled and shared among all the shows, while the remaining amount is a grant per semester, to HUTV, which will cover operating costs of the 12 shows.
